What exactly is taught in automobile engineering course? Learn in detail
Due to the rapidly growing automobile industry in India, there is a huge demand for the automobile engineering sector. This course is mainly the science of designing, manufacturing and repairing cars, bikes, trucks and other vehicles. If you are doing this course (Diploma or B.E./B.Tech) in India, here is a brief overview of what you will learn in 4 years:
1. Core Mechanical and Vehicle Design
At the beginning of the study one has to understand the main parts of vehicles. It includes internal combustion engine, gearbox, clutch, and suspension system. Also, computer-aided design and how to design vehicle models on the computer through software like AutoCAD are taught.
‘Travels Bus’ is becoming the first choice of passengers! Sleeper coach, in-built washroom and fresh food all in a hassle-free journey!
2. Electrical and Electronics Systems
Modern vehicles are no longer just mechanical, they have become ‘smart’. Hence, students are given in-depth knowledge of advanced vehicle electronics, sensors, dashboard systems, and primarily electric vehicle technology and battery management systems.
3. Vehicle Dynamics and Safety
‘Vehicle Dynamics’ is the mathematical and physical study of the forces acting on a vehicle as it moves on the road. It also teaches how to design safety systems such as crash testing, airbags, and anti-lock braking systems.
‘Delhi’s Fatfatia’! The Jugadi imagination of the Indian people has gone beyond the veil of time
4. Manufacturing and Practical Labs
Along with theory, students have to demonstrate actual engine disassembly, welding and testing in the workshop. In today’s digital age, simulation of vehicles on software like CATIA and Ansys is a major part of the study.
Important trends: Presently the Indian automobile curriculum has a special emphasis on electric vehicles, hybrid engines, and automated driving systems.
In short, While completing this course, you not only learn to repair cars, but acquire the complete technical knowledge of how to create advanced, safe and eco-friendly vehicles of the future.
