What happened to Virat Kohli after IPL ended? Afghanistan were out of the series
After the end of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, now Indian players are going to be seen in the jersey of the national team. Team India will play the only test match against Afghanistan from June 6. After this both the teams will clash in the ODI series. Before this series takes place, Team India has suffered a huge blow. According to the report of news agency PTI, Virat Kohli is out of the ODI series.
What happened to Kohli suddenly?
The report has claimed that veteran batsman Kohli will not be able to play in the ODI series against Afghanistan due to hamstring injury. A BCCI source told PTI, ‘Kohli has been ruled out of the ODI series due to hamstring injury.’ Kohli looked upset during the IPL final on Sunday (31 May). He batted for 18 overs in the run chase of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). Meanwhile, he was seen taking treatment on the field itself. Now the news of his being out of the Afghanistan series is coming.

Doubts on Rohit’s fitness too
Kohli is seen in Team India’s jersey only in ODI format. Due to his exclusion, the shine of the upcoming ODI series has faded. Now it remains to be seen whether Rohit Sharma will be available for the entire series against Afghanistan or not. Like Kohli, he now plays for India only in ODI format. Rohit suffered a hamstring strain during the IPL and had to stay out of some matches. He has been included in the team only on the basis of fitness.

The next ODI World Cup will be held in South Africa in October-November next year. Kohli and Rohit will get a place in the World Cup team only on the basis of their form and fitness.
