1. Question: What is the new anti-cheating law in Chhattisgarh?

answer: The state government is bringing ‘Prevention of Unfair Means in Public Recruitment and Professional Examinations Bill 2026’. This bill will be presented in the budget session, which will strictly crack down on cheating mafias and those who commit irregularities in examinations. After the previous recruitment scams, the BJP government has got a CBI inquiry done, and now this law will secure the future of the youth. What is the provision of fines and punishments?

2. Question: What will be the punishment and fine for copying?

answer: Candidates caught cheating can be jailed for 1 to 5 years. Also, there can be a maximum fine of up to Rs 5 lakh.

3. Question: What punishment will the counterfeiting mafia gangs receive?

answer: There is a provision of minimum 5 to 10 years imprisonment for members of organized copying gangs and if caught, a maximum fine of Rs 1 crore will be imposed. Repeated offenses can result in punishment up to life imprisonment.

  • answer: cheating on an exam or getting others to cheat
  • Leaking the question paper, taking it yourself or conspiring against it
  • Writing marks, words or cheating content on the body, clothes, furniture or anything in the exam room.

answer: This law is not limited to students only, but also includes organized gangs and crimes committed through technology:

  • Hosting fake exam by creating fake website
  • Issuance of fake admit card or appointment letter
  • Unlawful interference in computer system, network or technology related to examination
  • Manipulation of documents determining merit list or rank
  • Circulating fake question paper as genuine to earn money
  • Making a mistake in exam date or shift
