Relation between planetary transit and Kumbh Mela
Kumbh Mela is not only a religious event, it is also linked to astrology. It is organized according to astronomical events. According to Hindu astrology, the position of the planets has a deep impact on human life. Special positions of Jupiter, Sun and Moon create a time of energy and purity. The Kumbh Mela is held when Jupiter transits into Aquarius, the Sun enters Capricorn and a specific position of the Moon is formed. This combination is called 'Kumbh Yoga'. By taking bath in these holy rivers on these special days, all the sins of the soul are washed away and one attains salvation.
