What is the plan to evacuate Indian citizens stranded in Gulf countries? Advisory issued
Due to the ongoing war between Iran and Gulf countries, the reputation of thousands of Indians along with the citizens of those countries is also in danger. US President Donald Trump has claimed that Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei has died in an attack in Tehran. After this the situation is likely to get worse. Indians living in these countries want to return home safely and efforts are also being made by the government to evacuate people from these countries.
On this crisis, the Ministry of External Affairs said on Saturday that India is keeping a close eye on the recent developments and their impact on regional peace and stability. India has appealed to all parties to exercise restraint and give priority to the safety of civilians.

What did the Foreign Ministry say?
The Ministry of External Affairs said in its statement, ‘India expresses deep concern over the recent incidents in Iran and the Gulf region. We urge all parties to exercise restraint, avoid any provocation and ensure the safety of civilians. We are in touch with the Indians stranded in this area and necessary instructions have been given to them. We request Indian citizens to remain alert and stay in touch with the Mission. Instructions for Indians living in Gulf countries
- All citizens have been asked to register on the website of the Indian Embassy.
- The Embassy has issued helpline numbers so that immediate help can be provided in case of emergency.
- Citizens have been advised to stay close to bomb shelters and secure buildings.

- The Embassy in Israel has advised Indian citizens not to travel to Israel. Along with this, it has been advised to keep an eye on local news, government orders and emergency alerts. - The Indian Embassy in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia has asked to follow the advice of local authorities and the embassy. For emergency contact, 24×7 helpline number 00-966-11-4884697, WhatsApp number 00-966-542126748 and toll free number 800 247 1234 have been provided. The email is cw.riyadh@mea.gov.in.
- For people stranded in Jordan, the contact number given is 00962-770 422 276.
- In view of the regional situation, the Indian Embassy in Manama, Bahrain has given a 24×7 helpline number 00973-39418071.
