Ingredients to make Amritsari Fish Fry

Fish- 300-500 grams (cut into pieces)
Vinegar- 1 ½ tbsp
salt to taste
Turmeric powder – ½ tsp
Red chilli powder – 1 ½ tsp
Coriander powder – 1 tsp
Garam masala powder – ½ tsp
Ginger-garlic paste – 1 tablespoon
Lemon juice – 1 tablespoon
Rice flour (rice flour) – 2 tbsp
Corn flour – 1 tablespoon
Fresh coriander (chopped) – for garnishing
Oil – for frying

How to make Amritsari Fish Fry

To make Amritsari Fish Fry, first of all wash and wipe the fish pieces thoroughly. Add turmeric, salt, red chilli powder, coriander powder, garam masala and ginger-garlic paste to these fish pieces and mix well.

Now add lemon juice and vinegar to the fish and mix well. Leave it to marinate for about 15-20 minutes.

Now add rice flour and cornflour in a vessel, add some water and prepare a thick batter. The consistency of the batter should be such that the fish pieces are coated well but not too thick.

Keep the oil in the pan for heating. When the oil is well heated, now dip the marinated fish pieces in the batter and then fry in the hot oil for 4-5 minutes till they become golden brown and crispy on both the sides.

Now once cooked, take out the fish from the oil. Hot Amritsari fish fry is ready. Garnish it with fresh chopped coriander leaves, mint chutney and some onions and enjoy eating hot Amritsari Fish Fry.
