The Eliminator of IPL 2026 will see a clash between the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and the Rajasthan Royals (RR) on Wednesday evening in Mullanpur.
This is the first knockout game of the playoffs, with the winner advancing to face Gujarat Titans (GT) in Qualifier 2 and the loser being knocked out of the season.
Last night in Dharamsala, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) registered a huge win over GT in Qualifier 1 to seal their place in the final.
After a slow start where they lost three out of their first four games, SRH were rampant, getting on a five-game winning streak. They ended the league stage with 18 points, same as GT and RCB, but behind those two on net run rate.
RR had a great start with four wins in as many games but tapered off a bit and were inconsistent. Still, they managed to sneak into the playoffs after winning their last league match.
All the four teams in the playoffs this season have lifted the IPL trophy only once, and all are aiming for a second IPL title.

SRH dominated RR in the league stage, winning both their encounters. First in Hyderabad, Praful Hinge and Sakib Hussain picked up a four-wicket haul each in the course of a 57-run victory.
In the reverse fixture in Jaipur, Ishan Kisha belted 74 (31) and Abhishek Sharma smashed 57 (29) to successfully haul down the target of 229 that RR had set on the back of Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s century.

RR captain Riyan Parag and all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja are dealing with niggles. While Parag is expected to play against SRH in the Eliminator, Jadeja is uncertain.
