New Delhi: Former Chief Minister of Delhi and National Convenor of Aam Aadmi Party Arvind Kejriwal has got a big relief in the liquor policy matter. On Friday, Rouse Avenue Court acquitted him, Manish Sisodia and other accused.

The court said that no major conspiracy or criminal intention was proved in the CBI investigation. After this decision, social activist Anna Hazare has given an important statement. He talked about respecting the decision of the judiciary.

Anna Hazare’s statement

Anna Hazare said while talking to the media that the justice system of the country is very strong. Due to this, such a large and diverse country is running peacefully. He said, "India runs only on the strength of the judiciary and security system. If there is no judiciary, anarchy will spread. Now the court has given its verdict that Arvind Kejriwal is innocent, so everyone should accept this verdict."

When asked what she had said about Kejriwal earlier, Anna replied, "Whatever was said earlier was before the decision came. Then everyone was talking in the air. If the court’s decision had come earlier, we would not have said this. Now that the court has clearly said that there is no mistake, we have to accept it."

This matter is related to Delhi Excise Policy 2021-22. The opposition had alleged that this policy led to corruption to benefit private companies. CBI had filed a charge sheet, but the court said that the investigating agency failed to present evidence.

23 people including Kejriwal, Sisodia got clean chit. BRS leader K. Kavita also got relief. The court raised questions on the CBI investigation and said that mere allegations do not prove the crime.

Kejriwal and Sisodia’s reaction

Arvind Kejriwal became emotional after the decision. He said, "I am not corrupt. The court has described me and Manish Sisodia as staunchly honest." Manish Sisodia wrote on social media that BJP and agencies tried to defame him, but the truth won. This decision has strengthened public trust in the Constitution.

This decision is politically important. Kejriwal was in jail for several months. Now they are breathing a sigh of relief. However, CBI has said that it will approach the High Court against the decision. Anna Hazare’s statement shows that everyone should respect judicial decisions.
