After the Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi said that the decision to bring VB-G RAM G Act replacing MGNREGA was taken without consulting ministers and the cabinet. He also alleged that whatever Prime Minister Narendra Modi does, a few capitalists benefit. Rahul said, “MNREGA was not just a scheme, but it was an idea based on the right to work. MNREGA ensured minimum wages to crores of people in the country. MNREGA was a means of direct political participation and financial support in Panchayati Raj.”

The Congress leader further said, “The Modi government is attacking the idea of rights and the federal structure. The Modi government is snatching money from the states. This is centralization of power and centralization of finance. This is a loss to the country and the poor people. This decision has been taken directly from the Prime Minister’s Office and this decision has been taken without consulting the ministers and the cabinet. This shows that a one man show is going on in the country. Whatever Narendra Modi wants to do, he does it, which benefits a few capitalists. You see. The decision taken by Narendra Modi will be devastating.”
