WhatsApp users will soon have the option to change the theme of their chat screen and not just be limited to normal and dark mode. That’s right, the messaging is working on a new feature which could even include a colour picker based on which the theme will be created and applied on all the chat screens for the user.
WhatsApp Chat Theme Update: What We Know
The details about the upcoming feature come via WaBetaInfo who claims the Android beta version is being put through the tool which should soon be available for the testing group. The new feature shows you multiple theme colours that can be applied for the chat screen which will reflect when you chat with a friend or any other person. We still haven’t got the theme picker feature on our beta version but hopefully that will happen soon.
You will still have the dark theme available for the messaging app, which many WhatsApp users like but having more colours added to the mix will definitely be a bright sight. WhatsApp is busy adding new shades and features but it seems limited to Android users for now, and iOS users might have to wait until the public version rolls out in the near future.
WhatsApp is also adding new AI tools to the messaging app in the form of Meta AI which has already become popular with millions of users in India as per Meta recently. The company also mentions that it wants to limit the number of spam messages WhatsApp users get by adopting stringent rules and use of data to push content at the right time and to the right person.
WhatsApp spam has become an issue that annoys people and Meta really needs to find the balance of earning from the platform without alienating its users.
