WhatsApp Status Caption Edit Feature:WhatsApp is preparing to bring a new and very useful feature for its Android users. The company is currently testing the Status Caption Edit feature, through which users will be able to edit the caption of the status even after posting it. With this, there will be no need to delete the status and post it again to correct the typing mistake or change the caption.

Currently, this feature has been made available to select Android beta testers and it may be extended to more users in the coming weeks.

You can edit captions for 15 minutes
According to the report of WABetaInfo, this feature has been seen in WhatsApp Beta for Android 2.26.30.1 update. Under this, users will be able to change the caption of the status for 15 minutes after posting it. After the time limit is over, the option to edit the caption will not be available.

This feature will be especially beneficial for those users who want to correct spelling mistakes or make changes in the text after posting.

Edit Caption option will be available in two ways
WhatsApp will provide two different ways to use this feature. The first way is that users will be able to go to the list of their shared status updates and select the Edit Caption option from the status menu. With this, the caption can be edited without opening the status.

Another way would be through the pencil icon visible near the status caption. By tapping on this icon, users will be able to directly make changes in the caption.

No Edited label will be visible
WhatsApp shows an Edited label on edited messages in chat, but according to the report, no such label will be visible when editing the status caption. This means that other users viewing the status will not know that the caption has been changed after it is posted.

Currently available for beta users
This new feature is currently available only for those users who are using the latest Android Beta version of WhatsApp from Google Play Store. The company may gradually roll it out to more beta testers in the coming weeks and later to all users. If this feature reaches all users, using WhatsApp Status will become more convenient and easier than before.
