WhatsApp users will soon be able to use this feature of Meta AI

Delhi Delhi. WhatsApp will soon allow its users to talk to its parent company's AI chatbot Meta AI, available across its suite of apps, via voice commands to perform custom tasks. One of these is the ability to edit and share photos with contacts, which eliminates the manual intervention associated with sending text prompts to Meta AI. The upcoming feature is part of Meta's announcements at the recently held Meta Connect 2024. “With these updates, you can interact with Meta in real time using your voice,” Mark Zuckerberg, Meta's co-founder and CEO, said during the event. Will be able to talk to AI and send photos and edit them.”

According to Zuckerberg, WhatsApp users will see a waveform button that they can press and hold to talk to Meta AI. They can then provide the necessary information to Meta AI, including requests to edit photos through AI and send results with contacts. Editing can include adding, deleting, and changing photos using AI. Capabilities also include extracting information from photos. For example, Meta AI users can click a picture of a menu in a foreign language and ask for a translation into a familiar language.

The Meta AI will also get new voice options, providing more personalization in the form of celebrity voices from around the world. The AI chatbot will answer questions in the voices of Awkwafina, Dame Judi Dench, John Cena, Keegan Michael Key and Kristen Bell. The new celebrity voices will join existing options that Meta launched last year with collaborations from Kendall Jenner, Snoop Dogg and Tom Brady.

In addition to the new features of Meta AI, Mark Zuckerberg announced the launch of the company's new smart glasses, Orion. The new augmented reality (AR) glasses, codenamed Project Nazaré, are claimed to be the company's most advanced smart glasses. Meta's Orion features large holographic displays that project 2D and 3D content and “deliver the experience wherever you want.”
