Till now, voice and video call facility was limited only to mobile app or desktop app of Windows/Mac. But now, you will be able to make calls directly from your Chrome, Firefox or Edge browser. Who will get this feature? (Availability) Launch for beta users: Currently, this feature has been released for some select users associated with the ‘Beta Program’ of WhatsApp Web. Rollout for all: In the coming few weeks, it will be made available to all general users around the world. How to call on WhatsApp Web? (How to Use) Open the web version: Open web.whatsapp.com on your computer’s browser and log in by scanning the QR code from your mobile. Select Chat: Open the chat window of the person you want to call. Click on the Call button: At the top right of the chat, you will see new buttons for voice call (Phone icon) and video call (Camera icon). Allow: When you make a call for the first time, the browser will ask you for permission to use the microphone and camera, which can be ‘Allow’. 3 big features of this feature: End-to-end encryption: Like mobile, calls made from the web will also be completely secure and private. Screen Sharing: During video calls, you will also be able to share the screen of your computer, which is very useful for work meetings. Hassle without app: Now PC or Linux users with less RAM will not be forced to download heavy desktop apps. Note: Currently, this feature is only available. Available for one-to-one (personal) calls.
