New Delhi. During shooting, some accident often happens to the stars on the set. But once Bollywood actress Lara Dutta almost lost her life. Lara has played many glamorous, comic and action characters in her career. But the scariest story of his life is not of any film role, but of real life. And the real hero who saved them from this incident is none other than Akshay Kumar.
saved lara’s life
Lara recently told that when a strong wave swept her into the sea and her co-star Akshay Kumar saved her life. This accident happened on the sets of his debut film ‘Andaz’. While talking to Asian Television Network Canada, Lara recalled the most horrifying experience of her career.
Lara became Miss Universe in the year 2000 and then came to Bollywood in 2003 with the film Andaz. He told that during the shooting of a dance scene, everything suddenly went wrong. The biggest problem was that he did not know how to swim. She said- I went under water, was wearing leather clothes, did not know how to swim, sank like a stone.
If Akshay Kumar had not been there at that time, the accident could have been even more dangerous. Akshay immediately caught him and brought him to the shore. After this, Lara suffered hypothermic shock, the shooting was stopped and she was immediately taken to the hospital.
Learned diving at the age of 30
This incident had a deep impact on his mind. When Akshay Kumar later recommended her for the film Blue, in which shooting was to be done underwater, Lara at first flatly refused. She called Akshay and said that she cannot do this film. Akshay’s direct answer to this was – learn to swim. Lara laughingly said- At the age of 30 he told me to learn diving. I thought I was crazy.
But finally he overcame his fear, learned swimming at the age of 30 and signed Blue Film. The film, which was directed by Anthony D’Souza, was released in 2009 and was considered one of the biggest underwater films of Bollywood at that time. Shooting the film was also not easy. Many scenes were shot with real sharks. Even Akshay Kumar narrowly avoided a major accident when during the climax scene, his head hit a ship submerged in the sea and despite bleeding, he somehow came up.
