When Delhi turned into a gas chamber, Saurabh Bhardwaj held the government responsible, said – ‘It has become a meme material’…

Delhi State President Saurabh Bhardwaj has held the Delhi government responsible for the increasing pollution in the capital. He said that the government has become “just meme material” for the public. Regarding the rising AQI level in Delhi, Bhardwaj said, “Last night the AQI level went above 900 at many places. There is no stubble burning anywhere today, so Punjab cannot be blamed. Despite this, government construction work is going on in places where restrictions should have been imposed.”

He also raised questions on traffic and pollution control. “Despite the Supreme Court order, toll plazas are not being freed, leading to long traffic jams and increasing pollution. The Environment Minister himself is claiming that if water is sprinkled on the AQI monitor system, it will rot, then it should rot every monsoon.” Bhardwaj said, “What kind of people have you given the responsibility of the government, who have no scientific thinking and no vision? They have become just a subject of joke (meme material) for the public.”

Congress’s demand

Congress has put a tough question to Chief Minister Rekha Gupta regarding the increasing pollution in Delhi. The party has demanded that the Chief Minister release a white paper on pollution in the winter session of the Delhi Assembly and clearly tell the public why pollution is not reducing despite spending crores of rupees. The Congress also alleged that the government was avoiding an all-party meeting on pollution, even though the issue is of utmost importance to all political parties and the general public. The party says that in view of the increasing air pollution situation in the capital, the government should respond to the public with transparent, scientific and effective policies.

mist is mist

There was dense fog and mist in Delhi on Monday morning. The average air quality index (AQI) of the capital was recorded at 402, which falls in the ‘severe’ category. Road traffic and air travel were also affected due to the haze. Due to low visibility, drivers faced difficulties and flights from Delhi airport were affected. The Meteorological Department has advised citizens to exercise caution and avoid unnecessary travel in the early morning or at night.
