Pappu Yadav’s son, Sarthak Ranjan: In the IPL 2026 Player Mini Auction on Wednesday, 10 franchise teams bid on a total of 77 players and a total of Rs 215.45 crore was spent. During this period, Australian all-rounder Cameron Green became the most expensive foreign player in the history of the league. While India’s uncapped players Prashant Veer and Karthik Sharma also received heavy bids. Meanwhile, Sarthak, son of independent MP from Purnia Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav has also come into the limelight.

Actually, MP Pappu Yadav’s son Sarthak Ranjan is an emerging cricketer. He caught everyone’s attention with his brilliant performance in the Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2025. Opener Sarthak Ranjan scored 495 runs for North Delhi Strikers in 10 innings of 11 matches at an average of 55, which included four half-centuries. Seeing this performance, Shahrukh Khan’s franchise team Kolkata Knight Riders has bought Sarthak Ranjan at his base price. His base price was Rs 30 lakh. Meanwhile, MP Pappu Yadav openly expressed his happiness over his son joining KKR.

Pappu Yadav wrote on the social media platform 29-year-old Sarthak came into limelight in March last year when he joined Congress along with his father Pappu Yadav. After which there were speculations about his entry into active politics. Let us tell you that RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav’s son Tejashwi Yadav has also played in IPL. He was a part of Delhi Daredevils (Delhi Capitals) in the IPL from 2008 to 2012.
