When poetry was read at the mosque, eggs were thrown, strangulated, beard plucked, case registered

A big Mushaira was going on in Khargone, Madhya Pradesh, where poets from all over the country had come. Everything was going well, but as soon as the famous poet Abu Bakar Zia read a few lines of his poetry, the people present there suddenly became angry. The crowd not only threw eggs on the stage, but many people even climbed on the stage and started pushing and assaulting the poet. The video of this incident is now being seen widely on the internet.

The quarrel started when poet Abu Bakar Zia, taunting the society and the Sadar of the mosque, read these lines of poetry, ‘The Sadar of the Masjid collected coins like this, built a big house after getting the illicit wealth. Why should he not make his complaints day and night, we have made the informer the leader of the community. The meaning of his couplet was something like this, ‘The president of the mosque has built his house by earning money in wrong way and we have accepted the wrong person as our leader. On hearing this, some people present there got angry. They felt that this was an insult to their religion and society, and an uproar arose over this matter.

Abu Bakar Zia told the police that about 20-30 people suddenly attacked him. He alleged that people tried to strangulate him and his beard was also pulled. He says that among the crowd, someone also snatched his money, watch and phone. Some leaders and organizers present there somehow rescued him from there.

The second poet got the egg

The uproar had increased so much that some angry people started throwing eggs towards the stage. The target of those people was poet Abu Bakar Zia, but the egg accidentally hit another poet Apoorva Vikram Shah sitting there. Due to all this noise and attack, the Mushaira had to be stopped immediately and an atmosphere of fear was created among the people present there, which led to a stampede-like situation.

What are the police doing?

Police have started investigation in this matter. Things have come to light from both sides. The poet says that he was assaulted and looted, while the other side says that the poet said provocative things which have hurt the sentiments of the people. The police are now watching the videos from there to identify the people who started the fight.
