When Shahrukh spoke about being called ‘arrogant’, he admitted that it upset the filmmakers.

In the interview, the actor further revealed that what many call his arrogance actually stands for his self-respect and professionalism.

Talking about the thinking around him, Shah Rukh Khan said, “I don’t know if people call self-respect arrogance, so 100 per cent I am arrogant. Now what happens in film magazines is that when I say this line, they cut out the first part and say, ‘Yes, I am arrogant.’ So maybe that’s why.

The actor also talked about his working style in the film industry, stating that he has always insisted on a perfect script with dialogues during the narration of the film.

According to Shahrukh, during his struggling days, this approach was criticized by some filmmakers, but later after his success, this behavior of his started being seen as his dedication and passion towards work.

“The second thing is that when I sign a film, I trouble people a lot. Now you can call it trouble or detailing. When someone comes to me with a story and says this is the storyline, now you do it, then I say no, first you write the entire story with dialogues and give me the script. Because I am a stage artiste. I trust the script so much that you give me the character and I will play it.

He further said, “Don’t say that you are writing the story for Shahrukh Khan. Don’t say that you had Shahrukh Khan in your mind while writing and now I have said no.”

He said, “Now that I have become a hit, people will say that he does things in detail and that is why he is the dark horse of the industry. Earlier, during my struggling days, when I used to do this, people would say, ‘Who does he think he is? He asks us for scripts.’ It depends on what position the person is in. As long as this continues, everything will continue.”

In the same interview, Shah Rukh was seen opening up about making his mark in the industry despite the presence of well-known stars like Salman Khan and Aamir Khan during his debut in the industry.

When asked if he expected to reach stardom when he entered the film industry, Shah Rukh said, “I know Mr. Salman Khan is the biggest star of all time. Mr. Aamir Khan, I personally think, is the best actor in the country. Simply put, I have made my own place.”

Talking about Shahrukh Khan, the megastar made his Bollywood debut in 1992 with Deewana.

Before coming into films, he was an actor in the television space in popular shows like Fauji and Circus.

Bollywood superstar Hema Malini is often credited with seeing the potential in Shah Rukh Khan during his television days and giving him one of his early film breaks under her film banner, Dil Aashna Hai.

Over the years, Shahrukh Khan has given many superhit films like Baazigar, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Devdas, Chennai Express.

The actor was last seen in Dinky and is now gearing up for his upcoming film King, which also stars his daughter Suhana Khan and Bollywood superstar Deepika Padukone.
