When son Yuvraj did not get justice, father left India and shifted to London forever!
Uttar Pradesh: Software engineer Yuvraj Mehta lost his life in a tragic accident that took place on the night of 16 January 2026 in Sector-150, Greater Noida. Father Rajkumar Mehta, who was hoping for justice, has accepted defeat and gone to London to be with his daughter.
How did Yuvraj Mehta die?
Yuvraj Mehta’s car went out of control in dense fog, broke the wall of the drain and fell into a deep water-filled pit dug for the construction of the basement. Yuvraj climbed on the roof of the car and kept asking for help, but there was a delay in rescue.
He kept saying ‘Papa, save me’ for almost two hours, but due to lack of resources and negligence, he could not be saved. Teams of police, fire brigade, SDRF and NDRF recovered his body after five hours.
Let us tell you, Yuvraj was 27 years old and worked in a company in Gurugram. He lived in Eureka Park Society with his father Rajkumar Mehta. His mother had died and his wife had separated, so his son was his only support.
Mehta went to London to visit his daughter
Rajkumar Mehta was completely broken after the accident. The relatives stayed together for a few days, but later returned to Patna. 16 days after the incident, his daughter came from London and started living with her father to take care of him. After staying in Noida for a few days, the daughter took him to Delhi and then to London.
Now he is living there with his daughter. The family says that they are disappointed with the negligence of the system and delay in justice. Staying alone at home had become unbearable for him.
delay in investigation
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) after the incident and sought a report within five days. The report was submitted after 20 days, but has not been made public yet. Two days after the incident, the CEO of Noida Authority was removed and action was taken against some officials. A case was registered against the builder company and a director was also arrested, but no strict action was taken against the main responsible.
Local people consider the lack of monitoring of the open pit as negligence. One month has passed, but the family and people are disappointed as the SIT report has not been released. Yuvraj’s death has exposed the shortcomings of the system. The father is now in London, where he may be able to find peace, but there remains hope for justice.
