PM Modi-Macron Meet: French President Emmanuel Macron reached India. During this time he met PM Modi in Mumbai. Along with this, PM Modi and the President of France inaugurated the India-France Innovation Year 2026 in Mumbai. On this occasion, PM Modi said that today two big innovation hubs of the world are coming together. When we talk about India and France, our relationship is one of innovation as well as trust and shared values. With this in mind, President Macron and I have decided to celebrate the year 2026 as the India France Year of Innovation. This is not only our celebration but also a common commitment.

He further said, India, in its journey of thousands of years, has been innovating for human welfare in many fields like Maths, Medicine, Metallurgy and Architecture. And now, even in the 21st century, the youth of India are moving forward rapidly on the same journey of “Innovate for Global Good”. Our Atal Innovation Mission will complete a decade on 24th February. And in this time, it has become one of the largest grassroots innovation missions in the world. Our more than 10 thousand tinkering labs are working with more than one crore student innovators today.

PM Modi said, we are very proud that today India is becoming a shining example of women led research and innovation. Today, almost 50 percent of startups have at least one woman director. From India’s vibrant startup ecosystem to our world-class research labs… a new ‘Can-Do’ optimism is emerging.
