When will dearness allowance of Maharashtra state government employees become 58%? Big update on 3% DA increase

DA Hike News : Maharashtra state government employees will once again get the benefit of dearness allowance increase. Information is coming out that dearness allowance of state government employees will soon be 58%. At present dearness allowance of state government employees is 55% and it is expected to increase by another three percent. Of course dearness allowance of state government employees will be increased from 55% to 58%.

In fact, dearness allowance of central government employees was increased to 58% from 55% before Diwali. Importantly, this increase came into effect from July 2025. According to this, the dearness allowance of the state government employees in various states across the country was increased to 58% of that of central employees. But dearness allowance of state government employees has not been increased yet.

It is being claimed that the decision to increase the dearness allowance is being delayed due to the code of conduct for elections to local bodies. In fact, the state employees were expected to get the benefit of dearness allowance hike before Diwali. It was also claimed in the media report, but the government delayed the decision to increase the dearness allowance of the state government employees and now it is being predicted that this decision will be delayed in the coming time due to the code of conduct of the local self-government bodies. Meanwhile, a new update has come out regarding when exactly the dearness allowance of the state employees will be increased.

When will DA increase?

According to the information received, the decision regarding the increase in dearness allowance of the state government employees may be taken immediately after the results of the municipal elections are announced. The municipal elections will be held on 15th January 2026 and the results will be announced on 16th January. That means the decision of three percent DA increase of state government employees can be made anytime after January 16.

According to the report, the official government decision of DA increase will be issued in the month of January and the actual benefit of this will be given along with the salary of the month of January i.e. the salary that will be received by the employees in the month of February. Meanwhile, since the dearness allowance increase will be applicable to the state employees on the lines of central employees from the month of July, the state employees will also get gift of dearness allowance difference.

The amount of dearness allowance difference between July and December will be distributed to the account of state employees. But the government has not yet announced the official date when the GR will be issued for the increase in dearness allowance. Due to this, it will be interesting to see if the government actually decides to increase the dearness allowance in January.
