The superstars of the Indian team are currently showing their mettle in the Vijay Hazare Trophy (VHT). Stars like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant have shown the power of their bats in this 50 over format domestic tournament. Team India has to play the next match in January 2026, before that all the players with central contracts have been asked to play at least 2-2 matches in VHT.
After completing Vijay Hazare’s comment, Team India players will enter the ODI series against New Zealand. This series of 3 matches is starting from January 11, for which the probable date of selection of the Indian team has been revealed. According to media reports, the selectors will announce the ODI team on January 3 or 4. Let us tell you that after the ODI series, there will also be a T20 series. The T20 team has already been announced. Only those players who have been selected for the T20 World Cup will play in the 5-match T20 series.

The meeting will be held online
To choose the T20 World Cup team, the selection committee headed by Ajit Agarkar held a meeting at the BCCI headquarters. Apart from the selectors, Indian T20 team captain Suryakumar Yadav and BCCI secretary Devjit Saikia were also present in the selection meeting. A press conference was also held after the team selection. According to reports, the team for the ODI series against New Zealand will be selected through online meeting.

Eyes will be on Gill-Siraj
Indian ODI team captain Shubman Gill is continuously struggling with injuries. He was also ruled out of the ODI series after suffering a neck injury in the Kolkata Test against South Africa. Gill made a comeback in the T20 series but got injured again before the last match. However, there is still a lot of time for the New Zealand series to start. Gill may be fit on time. In such a situation, he will be seen captaining the Indian ODI team for the first time on home soil.
Eyes will be on Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma in the ODI series. Both the legends are in excellent form and have played one century innings each in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Mohammad Siraj, who has been away from the Indian white ball team for a long time, may make a comeback in the ODI team. Apart from this, Ishan Kishan may also return to the team. Kishan has made a place in the T20 World Cup team due to his excellent performance in domestic cricket. Now he is close to making a place in the ODI team also.
