When will the sharecroppers get the amount of PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi, the government replied

New Delhi : The government will distribute Rs 20,657 crore to more than 9.58 crore farmers in the 18th installment under the PM-Kisan scheme. In a written reply to a question asked in the Rajya Sabha, Minister of State for Agriculture Ram Nath Thakur said that 9,58,97,635 farmers have received Rs 20,657.36 crore under the 18th installment of PM-Kisan for the period August-November 2024. Answering another question, he said that at present no proposal is pending before the government to extend this scheme to sharecroppers.

Amount of Rs 3.46 lakh crore distributed

Maintaining complete transparency in registration and verification of beneficiaries, the Government of India has disbursed an amount of more than Rs 3.46 lakh crore in 18 installments since the inception of the scheme. Ram Nath Thakur said that during the release of the 18th installment of PM Kisan, more than 9.58 crore beneficiaries have got the benefit of the scheme.

Ramnath Thakur said that PM-KISAN Scheme is a central sector scheme which was launched by the Prime Minister in February 2019 to meet the financial needs of farmers. He said the farmer-centric digital infrastructure has ensured that the benefits of the scheme reach all farmers across the country without the involvement of any middleman. Under this scheme, a financial benefit of Rs 6000 is transferred every year in three equal installments through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) method in the bank accounts linked to the Aadhar card of farmers.
