Under the direction of Superintendent of Police Abhishek Verma, under the able supervision of Additional Superintendent of Police Anil Kumar and under the able leadership of Area Officer Obara Amit Kumar, in the course of the campaign being run against cow smugglers, on 20.03.2026, the police station Kon, from Majhgawan near Chanchi Kala Pulia, recovered 03 head of cows being loaded in a pickup vehicle and were taking them for slaughter and arrested 03 cow smugglers from the spot. During interrogation, the accused told that they used to buy these cows from Chopan, Jugail police station area and send them to West Bengal for slaughter through traders from Jharkhand and used to sell them there at high prices.
In this regard, FIR No. 42/2026 under section 3/5A/5B/8 Cow Slaughter Prevention Act has been registered against accused Om Prakash, son of Bifan Kharwar, resident of Patvadh police station, Chopan district, Sonbhadra, age 30 years, Sudarshan Ram, son of Kallan Ram, resident of Patvadh Tola, Muraiya police station, Chopan district, Sonbhadra, age-34 years, Umesh Ram, son of Rivan Ram, resident of Patvadh Tola. Radio Police Station, Chopan District, Sonbhadra Age – 41 years, legal action was taken against him as per rules and he was sent to the court. A total of 03 cattle were recovered from the accused in a pickup vehicle number – UP64 BT 0260.
