IPL 2025: Preparations for IPL 2025 mega auction are going on in full swing. Bidding on players is going to take place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on 24th and 25th November. By now all the teams must have prepared the list of players for bidding. As you all know that RTM i.e. Right to Card has returned in this auction. So in this article, let us tell you how many RTM cards each team has… and also tell you which team can use RTM for which of its old players.
What is RTM?
What is Right to Match Card (RTM)? RTM was introduced in IPL from 2017, under which any franchise gives an opportunity to retain its old player i.e. released player during the mega auction.
BCCI had removed him from the mega auction of IPL 2022, but he was removed from the mega auction of IPL 2022. However, now in the IPL 2025 mega auction, franchises are once again getting the opportunity to use RTM, which will help the teams in buying their old players.
Which team will use RTM for which player in IPL 2025?
Royal Challengers Bangalore: Royal Challengers Bangalore has retained Virat Kohli, Yash Dayal and Rajat Patidar. That means RCB has 3 RTM cards. Bold Army can use this card for its old fast bowler Mohammad Siraj.
Punjab Kings: Punjab Kings retained only 2 players before the auction, which means they have a total of 4 RTM cards. Punjab can use this card for players like Liam Livingstone, Harshal Patel, Sam Curran, Kagiso Rabada.
Gujarat Titans: Gujarat Titans has retained 5 players before the mega auction. The names of Rashid Khan, Shubhman Gill, Sai Sudarshan, Rahul Tewatia and Shahrukh Khan are included in this. That means KKR still has 1 RTM card left. GT can use RTM for its star fast bowler Mohammed Shami.
Delhi Capitals: Before the IPL 2025 mega auction, Delhi Capitals retained 4 players, in which Akshar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Tristan Stubbs, Abhishek Porel have been retained. Now Delhi has 2 RTM cards left. Delhi
Mumbai Indians: Mumbai Indians have retained 5 players before the IPL 2025 mega auction. In this, Jasprit Bumrah, Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Rohit Sharma and Tilak Verma have been retained. Mumbai has an RTM card, but it can be used only for foreign players.
Sunrisers Hyderabad: Sunrisers Hyderabad has retained 5 players, which include the names of captain Pat Cummins, Abhishek Sharma, Nitish Reddy, Heinrich Klaasen and Travis Head. SRH has 1 RTM card left. Hyderabad can use RTM for Bhuvneshwar Kumar.
Chennai Super Kings: Chennai Super Kings retained 5 players, which include the names of Ruturaj Gaikwad, Mathisha Pathirana, Shivam Dubey, Ravindra Jadeja and MS Dhoni. It is believed that during the CSK auction devon conway Can use RTM for.
Lucknow Super Giants: LSG retained 5 players from Lucknow Super Giants ahead of IPL 2025 mega auction. The franchise has named Nicholas Puran, Ravi Bishnoi, Mayank Yadav, Mohsin Khan and Ayush Badoni. That means there is 1 RTM card. LSG can use it for Devdutt Padikkal.
2 teams do not have RTM
Before the IPL 2025 mega auction, all 10 teams together retained a total of 46 players. Out of these, there were 2 teams which retained maximum i.e. 6 players. The names of Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders are included in this. However, both these teams have their core team.
