White House statement on talks between PM Modi and Trump, know which issues were discussed
Washington. Referring to the phone conversation between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump on Tuesday, the White House, the official residence and office of the US President, said on Friday that there was a meaningful conversation between the two leaders. ‘New York Times’ reported that when Modi and Trump talked on the situation in West Asia on Tuesday, billionaire businessman Elon Musk was also present with him on the phone.
When requested to comment on this news of ‘New York Times’, ‘White House’ Press Secretary Carolyn Levitt said in a statement, “President Trump has a very good relationship with Prime Minister Modi and the conversation was fruitful.” The ‘New York Times’, quoting unnamed US officials, reported that Elon Musk also participated in the phone conversation between Trump and Modi on Tuesday.
It is unusual for a civilian from outside the government to be present at the talks between the heads of two countries amid the ongoing war in West Asia. The news of ‘New York Times’ said that the confirmation by two American officials of Musk’s participation in this conversation indicates that the relations of Musk, the world’s richest person, with President Trump have again improved.
After Musk’s exit from the government last year, relations between him and Trump turned sour. Musk was tasked with reducing the number of employees in the government. The news said that it is not clear why Musk was involved in this conversation or whether he said anything during this period or not.
This is the first conversation between the two leaders since the conflict began in West Asia on February 28. During the conversation, Prime Minister Modi stressed the importance of keeping the Strait of Hormuz open, secure and accessible, saying it is vital for world peace, stability and economic prosperity.
