Who are those 36 people whose lives were lost in the Almora bus accident… where were they from? – Read
A total of 36 people have died in the bus accident that took place on Monday in Almora, Uttarakhand. SDRF and NDRF teams reached the spot and carried out the rescue. Some injured were airlifted to Trishikesh AIIMS. Police have identified all the deceased except two. Most of these people were traveling from Pauri Garhwal. Out of 36 people, 28 died on the spot. The rest died in Ramnagar hospital. The administration has released the list of the dead.
The passenger bus was going from Kinath in Almora towards Ramnagar. The bus passed just ahead of Kinath and this accident happened. The bus went out of control and fell straight into the ditch. Immediately after the accident, the administration and fire brigade were informed. The police started the rescue along with the local people, meanwhile SDRF and NDRF teams were also called. The accident was so horrific that the bodies of many people were trapped inside the bus. Somehow they were thrown out.
More passengers than Pauri Garhwal
Many public representatives including the CM have expressed grief over the news of the accident near Sarad Band. Most of the passengers inside the bus who died were residents of Pauri Garhwal. Some passengers were also residents of Nainital. One passenger is said to be from Borad, Delhi. 2 passengers are from Almora. Many officers including SSP Almora had also reached the spot at the time of the accident. Officials have ordered an investigation into the accident.
CM Pushkar Singh Dhami has expressed grief over the news of the bus accident. Dhami has announced financial assistance of Rs 4 lakh each to the families of those killed in the bus accident and Rs 1 lakh each to the injured.
