New Delhi, 23 March 2026: All 10 teams in the Indian Premier League enter the field with the hope of winning the shining trophy. Till date, Delhi Capitals, Punjab Kings and Lucknow Super Giants are the three teams who have never won the IPL trophy. However, there is a separate competition among batsmen throughout the season. The batsman who scores the most runs wins the Orange Cap.
The batsman who scores the most runs at the end of the season gets the Orange Cap as well as prize money.

In the history of the Indian Premier League, only three players have won the Orange Cap more than once. David Warner has won the Orange Cap three times, which is the most. He has achieved this feat for Sunrisers Hyderabad. Virat Kohli and Chris Gayle have won the Orange Cap twice each, both achieved this feat for Royal Challengers Bangalore. The Orange Cap winner in the 2025 season was Sai Sudarshan, who scored 759 runs for Gujarat Titans.
