Who is Aman Mokhade, who broke Karnataka’s pride in Vijay Hazare Trophy?
The first semi-final of the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26 season was played between Vidarbha and Karnataka on Thursday (January 15). In this match played at BCCI’s Center of Excellence in Bengaluru, Vidarbha defeated Karnataka by 6 wickets and made it to the finals. Thanks to the lethal bowling of Darshan Nalkande (5 wickets), Vidarbha bundled out Karnataka’s strong batting line-up for 280 runs and then easily achieved the target by losing 4 wickets in 46.2 overs.
With this, Vidarbha has avenged its defeat against Karnataka in the title match last season. Aman Mokhade played an important role in this big victory of Vidarbha. In the run chase, he played a explosive inning of 138 runs in 122 balls with the help of 12 fours and 2 sixes. Right-handed batsman Mokhade was out when Vidarbha needed only 27 runs in 9 overs with 7 wickets left. Mokhade was awarded the Player of the Match award for his match-winning innings.

During his century, Aman Mokhade has equaled the world record for completing the fastest 1000 runs in List-A cricket. He has achieved this milestone in 16 innings. Graeme Pollock of South Africa also took the same number of innings. Mokhade has become the fastest Indian player to score thousand runs in List-A. He broke the records of Devdutt Padikkal and Abhinav Mukund. Padikkal and Mukund had scored 1000 runs in 17-17 innings.

Who is Aman Mokhade?
Aman Mokhade, who is going to turn 25 on January 16, is a right-handed top order batsman. He also does part-time leg spin bowling. Mokhade has created a ruckus in this domestic season. He scored 577 runs in 7 innings at an average of 96.16 in the first leg of the Ranji Trophy 2025-26 season. During this period, he scored 3 centuries and 1 half-century. After this, Mokhade was the highest run scorer for Vidarbha in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Now he is making waves in Vijay Hazare Trophy. Mokhade has come on top in terms of scoring most runs in this tournament.
So far he has scored 781 runs in 9 innings at an average of 97.62. Mokhade has scored 5 centuries and 1 half-century. He jointly tops N Jagadeesan and Karun Nair in terms of scoring most centuries in a single edition of Vijay Hazare Trophy.
