Dalima Chhibber, a defender for the Indian women’s national football team and club Kickstart FC, made history by presenting Brazilian football legend Marta Vieira da Silva with the first-ever Marta Award.
Marta earned the inaugural honor for her incredible solo goal against Jamaica.

Dalima Chhibber's Journey
Dalima debuted for India during the 2016 South Asian Games in a match against the Maldives. Since then, she has been a consistent presence in the national team. In March 2019, Dalima scored her first international goal against Bangladesh during the SAFF Women’s Championship.
Her standout moment came in the final of the same tournament when she scored a 40-yard free kick against Nepal. Her performances earned her the Most Valuable Player of the Tournament Award.
Club Career Highlights
Dalima has played for several clubs in the Indian Women’s League, starting with FC Pune City in the 2016-17 season, followed by India Rush SC and Gokulam Kerala FC. She also gained international experience with the Manitoba Bisons in Canada, where she shaped her skills over two stints before returning to India to join Kickstart FC for the 2023-24 IWL season, becoming the team captain.
