Ayodhya: Amidst the donation controversy related to Ram temple in Ayodhya, Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has taken a big decision. The trust on Monday appointed former Maharashtra cadre IFS officer Krishna Mohan as interim general secretary. He will now look after the day-to-day work of the Trust in place of Champat Rai.

Why did this change happen?   

After a meeting of the Trust that lasted more than two hours, the resignation of General Secretary Champat Rai was accepted. After the meeting, Treasurer Swami Govind Dev Giri Maharaj said in the press conference that the trust has been charged with theft. "so hurt" Is. He demanded that the culprits and their associates should be caught and given strict punishment.

Giri said, "Theft is theft. SIT is investigating. This is the responsibility of the administration. We are insisting that the culprits should be caught and they should be punished for their crimes." The Trust will now meet again on July 22. The investigation report of the SIT prepared by the UP government will be discussed in it.

Who is Krishna Mohan?   

73 year old Krishna Mohan is originally from Hardoi, Uttar Pradesh. He is a former Indian Forest Service officer of Maharashtra cadre. He also has an old association with RS. Mohan has been a senior member of the Sangh and has also held the responsibility of regional head of Eastern Uttar Pradesh.

He has been associated with social work for years. After the death of trustee Kameshwar Chaupal, he was made a permanent member of the trust in September 2025. At that time all the members of the Trust had unanimously approved his name.

What did Krishna Mohan say?  

After the appointment, Krishna Mohan said that everyone is saddened by the incident that has happened. "very sad" Is. He assured that appropriate action will be taken against anyone found guilty.

He admitted that the trust’s image has been damaged by this incident. "I will take every possible step to remove this negative thinking," He said. It was also acknowledged that there were some shortcomings in the functioning of the Trust which some people took advantage of.

Krishna Mohan will work as interim general secretary until the new permanent general secretary is appointed. He clearly said, "I have got the responsibility of acting general secretary. We will remain firm on ensuring that the culprits are punished as per justice and such a mistake is not repeated in future."
