Who is Sameer Minhas? Pakistan U19 Hero Against India in Asia Cup 2025

Sameer Minhas, the opener for Pakistan U19, was the main attraction in the U19 Asia Cup 2025 final versus their foremost rivals India on the 21st of December 2025, at the ICC Academy in Dubai. Minhas, who came to bat first after the toss, clinched a magnificent ton, reaching the hundred mark in just 71 balls with the total of 100 runs.

The final was much awaited; India and Pakistan confrontations came to the fore once more. Indian captain Mhatre Ayush opted to field first with the hope that he would be able to put Pakistan into a small total by his bowlers. To the contrary, however, the Indian attack found it hard to deal with the aggressive and well-timed strokeplay of Minhas in the first phase of the match.

Though Henil Patel of India was able to get rid of Hamza Zahoor very early, Minhas together with Usman Khan were the bedrock of the innings and brought Pakistan past the 50-run mark in a mere 7th over of the innings

Minhas’ century was the second-fastest of the tournament after Vaibhav Suryavanshi of India. His scoring was so quick during the powerplay that it had turned the tables in India’s favor and also laid a strong base for a big total. He was out after scoring 172 runs in 113 balls at a strike rate of 152.21
