Who is the owner of buffalo, DNA test to resolve the dispute; know what is the matter

Bengaluru: A very interesting case has come up in Karnataka. Here, DNA test of a buffalo is being done to decide its ownership. Actually this buffalo belongs to a temple and hundreds of people worship it. But there is a dispute between two villages regarding who is the owner of the buffalo. The matter is of Devanagari district of Karnataka, where there is a fight between Kunibelaker and Kulgatte villages. The distance between the two villages is about 40 km. At present the buffalo has been kept in police custody at Shivamogga Gaushala. Let us tell you that a similar dispute took place in Devanagari district in the year 2021 also. Even then the dispute over ownership of buffalo was resolved only through DNA test.

Eight years ago, a buffalo was dedicated to Kariyamma Devi of Kunnibelaker village. At the same time, a buffalo was recently found in Belekar village. It is claimed that this buffalo had gone missing from Kulgatte village of Honali taluk. The people of Kulgatte village took this buffalo to their home. Mandappa Ranganwar of the same village says that this buffalo has been missing for two months. Now the people of Kunibelakar village are asserting their rights over this buffalo. As the controversy escalated in the matter, the police had to intervene.

There is also controversy regarding the age of the buffalo. The people of Kunibelakar claim that he is eight years old. At the same time, the people of Kulgatta are saying that the age of the buffalo is three years. After examination by veterinarians, its age is said to be six years, which is close to the claim of Kunibelakar village. However, the people of Kulgatte village do not agree on this. After this, these people registered a case of theft against seven people of Kulgatte village and demanded DNA test. Additional SP of Devanagari district Vijaykumar Santosh said that DNA sample has been collected. The matter will be resolved after the results come.
