Who owns Le Constellation bar in Switzerland? What we know so far

Le Constellation, a well-known nightlife venue in the luxury Alpine resort town of Crans-Montanahas recently come under global attention following a tragic New Year’s Eve incident. A massive fire, reportedly triggered by an explosion in the early hours of Thursday, January 1, turned celebrations into catastrophe, claiming at least 40 lives and leaving several others injured. Authorities in Switzerland have launched a full investigation to establish the exact cause of the blaze.

At the time of the incident, the bar was reportedly crowded with revellers welcoming the New Year. Emergency responders rushed to the site, but dense smoke and the rapid spread of flames made rescue efforts extremely difficult. The scale of the tragedy has raised serious questions around safety norms and emergency preparedness in late-night venues.

Ownership of Le Constellation Bar

According to reports cited by Inside ParadeplatzLe Constellation was owned and operated by a French couple originally from Corsica. The couple is believed to have taken over the bar sometime in the mid-2010s. While their individual identities have not been officially confirmed by Swiss authorities, media reports indicate that they were actively involved in managing the venue and had also expanded into other hospitality and catering ventures within the region.

Local coverage had, until recently, described Le Constellation as an “up-and-coming” nightlife hotspot in Crans-Montana, particularly popular among tourists and seasonal visitors. However, following the incident, the bar’s official social media accounts on platforms such as Instagram and Facebook have reportedly been taken offline, significantly limiting access to verified public information about its ownership and operations.
