Who was Usman Hadi, the bloody character in Bangladesh, at whose funeral the whole of Dhaka cried?
News India Live, Digital Desk: Once again heart-wrenching and worrying news is coming from our neighboring country Bangladesh. It was thought that after the fall of Sheikh Hasina’s government, there would be peace, but it does not seem to be happening. The capital there, Dhaka, is once again sitting on a heap of gunpowder. The reason is the murder of the young leader Osman Hadi, considered the face of the revolution, and his sad funeral. How tense the atmosphere is, you can guess from the fact that on one side the funeral was taking place and on the other side, the anger of the supporters was at its peak. ‘Inquilab Manch’ has now directly challenged the government. Osman Hadi was laid to rest in Dhaka on Saturday amid grief and anger. This was no ordinary farewell. The entire Central Playground of Dhaka University was covered with heads of people. Just crowds everywhere. The stature of Osman Hadi can be seen from the fact that the head of the interim government of Bangladesh, Dr. Muhammad Yunus himself had come to offer his funeral prayers. Along with him, Army Chief General Waqar-uz-Zaman and many senior government ministers were also present there. He has been buried with full state honours, right next to the tomb of national poet Kazi Nazrul Islam. Being buried at this place in Bangladesh is a great honor in itself. But the real twist is now… As soon as the funeral was over, Usman Hadi’s organization ‘Inquilab Manch’ made its stand clear. He has turned tears into anger. The organisation’s spokesperson declared from the packed stage that this was “murder” and that they would not let it go like this. They had given a clear 24-hour ultimatum to the government. Their demand is simple—”If the murderers and conspirators of Osman Hadi are not arrested by 5.15 pm on Sunday, we will do what the government has not expected.” He has threatened that if justice is not given, then another big movement will start, which will not be possible for anyone to stop. What happened after all? For those who do not know, let us tell them that Osman Hadi was the same person who had played an important role in the big student movement last year, which led to the coup. According to reports, he was shot by some masked miscreants on December 12. A lot of efforts were made to save him, he was taken to Singapore’s Mount Elizabeth Hospital by air ambulance for treatment, but alas, this 27-year-old young leader died on Friday. Conspiracy or something else? Supporters say that this is a well-planned political murder. Elections are due in Bangladesh in the coming days (likely on February 12), and Osman Hadi could be a strong candidate. Now many equations have gone wrong due to his departure. The attacks on the media house in Dhaka and now this murder have also put a question mark on the law and order of the Yunus government. The next 24 hours are very heavy for Dhaka. If the killers are not caught, will Bangladesh burn again? This fear is in everyone’s mind.
