Who will BJP field against Hemant Soren? Why was the name for Barhet not released in the first list?

Ranchi: Jharkhand vidhansabha election. BJP's first list came but Barhate's name was not in the list. The question is arising whether BJP will field any big name against Hemant Soren or will it make the path of victory easier for Hemant.

66 candidates in BJP's first list

BJP on Saturday evening released its list of 66 candidates for Jharkhand Assembly elections 2024. This list includes 12 women, 2 are former Chief Ministers, 2 wives of former Chief Ministers are contesting the elections, and the daughter-in-law of a former Chief Minister is also contesting the elections. This time BJP is going to contest elections on 68 seats.

Who is against Hemant on Barhet seat?

Although BJP released the list of 66 candidates, no candidate has been declared from Barhet, the seat of Chief Minister Hemant Soren. Hemant Soren had last contested elections from both Barhet and Dumka seats and won. Later he resigned from Dumka seat.

Dr. Lewis Marandi had lost in Dumka

After the resignation of Hemant Soren, his brother Basant Soren contested the Dumka seat reserved for Scheduled Tribes and defeated Dr. Lewis Marandi of BJP. Dr. Marandi had to face defeat in the by-election also.

JMM did not lose in Barhet

Barhet assembly seat reserved for the Scheduled Tribe of Santal Pargana is considered an impenetrable fort of JMM. This seat has been in the possession of JMM for the last four decades. Voting will be held here in the second phase on November 20. The question is whether BJP has given a walkover to Hemant Soren or the announcement of the India Alliance candidate is awaited.
