Who will get Ratan Tata's property worth Rs 10 thousand crores? What did Shantanu Naidu get?..

-He entrusted the responsibility of fulfilling his will to four people

Mumbai Ratan Tata property: Ratan Tata, head of the country's largest industrial house Tata Group, passed away recently. He has left behind assets worth about Rs 10 thousand crores. He entrusted the execution of his will to four persons. In his will, he made provision for 'unlimited' care of his German Shepherd dog Tito. This is probably the first time in India that a businessman has made such a provision in his will.

Ratan Tata has given his wealth to his foundation, brother Jimmy Tata, half-sisters Shirin and Diana Jeejeebhoy, household staff and others. Tata's assets include a 2,000-square-foot bungalow in Alibaug, a two-storey house in Juhu, Mumbai, fixed deposits of Rs 350 crore and a 0.83 per cent stake in Tata Sons, the Tata group's holding company.

Tito was adopted by Ratan Tata five or six years ago. He has entrusted the responsibility of taking care of it to his chef Rajan Shaw. The will also makes provision for Ratan Tata's butler Subbaiah, who has been with him for three decades. Ratan Tata is said to have bought designer clothes for Shaw and Subbiah during their foreign tours.

What did Shantanu Naidu get?

Ratan Tata's executive assistant Shantanu Naidu is also named in the will. Tata has sold its stake in Naidu's Goodfellow initiative. He has also waived off the personal loan taken by Naidu for studying abroad. The Tata Group has a tradition of issuing shares to charitable trusts. Ratan Tata property has continued this tradition. His share will be transferred to Ratan Tata Endowment Foundation (RTEF). According to sources, Tata Sons chief N Chandrasekaran may become the chairman of RTEF.

There is no clarity about Alibaug's family

Ratan Tata lived in Helkai House of Kulbya. It is owned by Evert Investments, a 100 percent subsidiary of Tata Sons. Evert will decide his own fate. Helkai House and Alibaug Bungalow were designed by Ratan Tata. However, the matter regarding the property of Alibaug is not yet clear. Juhu House is spread over 1.25 acres. This legacy was inherited by Ratan Tata and his family. Sources say it has been closed for more than two decades and now there are plans to sell it.

Who will get the fleet of cars?

Apart from Tata Sons shares, Ratan Tata's stake in other Tata group companies will also be transferred to RTEF. This company was established in 2022. The company made its first equity investment by buying Tata Technologies shares from Tata Motors for Rs 147 crore ahead of Tata Technologies' IPO in 2023. After this it bought a small stake in Tata Digital.

Ratan Tata invested through RNT Associates and RNT Advisors. This investment will be sold and the proceeds will be given to RTEF. Ratan Tata's fleet consisted of about 20-30 vehicles. This also includes many luxury models. These vehicles are kept at Halekai House and Taj Wellington Mews Service Apartment in Colaba. This collection is still under consideration.
