With a remarkable comeback, Donald Trump is set become the US President again. Wasting no time, the Republican is chalking out his transition strategy and picking a team for his second term.
According to Trump campaign adviser, who spoke to the New York Post, the transition team is ready to be revealed internally as the nominees have already been short-listed.
Trump is surrounded by aides and allies at his Mar-a-Lago residence as they work out a transition strategy. Besides Cabinet secretaries, around 4,000 presidential nominees will be picked for the federal bureaucracy.

Who are part of Trump’s transition team?
Trump’s sons Donald Jr and Eric Trump, Vice President-elect JD Vance, former House of Representative Tulsi Gabbard and Robert F Kennedy Jr.
The transition is overseen by Cantor Fitzgerald CEO Howard Lutnick and former US Administrator of the Small Business Administration Linda McMahon.
Will Elon Musk, Ivanka and Jared Kushner return as advisers?
Elon Musk could join as Trump’s adviser in the new administration along with Robert F. Kennedy Jr, according to sources. However, there is no official confirmation regarding this.
Ivanka and Jared Kushner stayed away from Trump’s second campaign but they joined the President-elect at Mar-a-Lago when the results came in. However, sources say the First Daughter would not return to the White House and is focused on her children although she might make some appearances. Her husband Kushner who is believed to advise the transition team is also likely to stay away from politics.
In the first Trump administration, Kushner handled Middle East peace efforts and was said to be close to Saudi Arabian Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. On the other hand, Ivanka’s oversaw education policies and women empowerment.
Secretary of State
Florida Senator Marco Rubio and Tennessee Senator Bill Hagerty are likely choices for the roles of Secretary of State.
Secretary of Homeland Security
Former acting Homeland Security Secretary Chad Wolf could be an option for a permanent role in this post.
White House Chief of Staff
Trump campaign co-chair Susie Wiles, former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy and former White House domestic policy adviser Brooke Rollins are among the names doing rounds as likely picks for White House Chief of Staff.
Attorney General
The likely candidates for the post of Attorney General include former acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker, Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry and Missouri Senator Eric Schmitt.
National Security
Arkansas Senator Tom Cotton, former acting Director of National Intelligence Richard Grenell, former national security adviser Robert O’Brien and Florida House Representative Mike Waltz could be picked for national security roles.
New York House Rep Elise Stefanik, Vivek Ramaswamy and former New York Rep Lee Zeldin could also be chosen for some key roles in the new administration.
