South and Hindi films clash at the box office
New Delhi . The competition between South and Hindi films is continuously increasing in the Indian cinema world. Every year, audiences eagerly wait to see which film will win. In the last few years, many major films have come face to face, where sometimes one film wins and sometimes the other has the upper hand.
Akshay Kumar’s ‘Sarfira’ and Kamal Haasan’s ‘Indian 2’
First of all, let’s talk about Akshay Kumar’s film ‘Sarfira’ and Kamal Haasan’s ‘Indian 2’, which were released on July 12, 2024. Both the films did not perform as expected at the box office. The budget of ‘Indian 2’ was around Rs 250 crore, but it faced disappointing results and was declared a disaster.
Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor’s ‘Stree 2’
After this, on 15 August 2024, there was another clash between Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor’s ‘Stree 2’ and the Tamil film ‘Thangalan’. In this competition, ‘Stree 2’ earned handsomely and was successful at the box office, while ‘Thangalan’ missed the expected success.
Sunny Deol’s ‘Gadar 2’ and Rajinikanth’s ‘Jailor’

The match between Shahrukh Khan’s ‘Zero’ and Kannada star Yash’s ‘KGF’ was also special for the audience. Despite being released on 21 December 2018, ‘Zero’ did not compete with ‘KGF’ and the film proved to be a flop at the box office. ‘KGF’ not only made a place in the academy but also in the minds of the audience.
