Who is Pratika Rawal?
She was born at Delhi on 1 September 2000. She takes her domestic cricket with Railways. Her father, Pradeep Rawal, is a BCCI-certified Level-II umpire with the DDCA.
Besides cricket, Pratika has also played basketball for Bal Bharati School in Rajender Nagar, winning gold at the 64th School National Games in Delhi in January 2019.
She first took her training under the mentorship of her coach Sharvan Kumar at the Rohtak Road Gymkhana Cricket Academy. She made her international debut in August during a home series against West Indies.
She scored 40 runs on her debut while contributing to a 110-run stand with Mandhana. She also had the rare honor of having taken her maiden ODI wicket in the same match, that of West Indies captain Hailey Matthews.
She represented Delhi from 2021 to 2024, and then her switch to Railways.
Pratika claimed that her smooth connect with her subject and love for cricket have aided her in the journey toward the Indian team after reaching her maiden century.
“When I started studying about the human mind, I was very keen to figure out how we mentally process things, on-field and off-field. It indeed helped me immensely in cricket,” said the Delhi cricketer while speaking in a video titled “Pratika Rawal: Psychology Meets Cricket” posted on X by BCCI. “
