A recent survey conducted by ‘Vote Vibe’ to know the mood of the public before the elections has sparked a new discussion in the politics of the state. In this survey, people’s opinion has come to the fore regarding the choice of Chief Minister, the functioning of the government and election issues, which has made the political equations more interesting.
Mixed response received on the functioning of Mamta government
In the survey, when people were asked about the performance of the state government in the last five years, many people responded positively. About 34.8 percent people described the government’s work as ‘excellent’, while 9.5 percent people considered it ‘good’. However, about 18 percent people seemed extremely dissatisfied with the functioning of the government and described it as ‘very bad’. Overall, the number of people giving positive responses was more than 44 percent, which is considered a matter of relief for the ruling party.
Who is getting support for the post of Chief Minister?
Mamata Banerjee still appeared at the forefront when asked about her choice for the post of Chief Minister. According to the survey, about 41.6 percent people want to see him as the Chief Minister. Whereas BJP leader Shubhendu Adhikari has got the support of about 18.9 percent people.
Apart from this, Samik Bhattacharya also got the choice of some percentage of people, while the support of leaders like Abhishek Banerjee and Mohammad Salim was relatively less. According to the data, in the matter of choice of Chief Minister, Trinamool Congress seems to have an edge of more than 7 percent over BJP.
Which issues will be important in the elections
The survey also revealed that this time some specific issues may remain prominent among the public in the elections. The biggest issue is considered to be unemployment, which about 36 percent people said as their main concern. Apart from this, the issue of law and order and security is also important for the people, which was given priority by about 19 percent people. Corruption can also become an important topic of election debate, because about 13 percent people have described it as a big issue.
Opinion also on infiltration and action of investigating agencies
The survey also revealed people’s opinions on the political questions raised regarding illegal infiltration. About one third of the people believe that this issue has been raised in the right way. At the same time, some people say that the political impact of the actions and raids of the investigating agencies can also affect the election environment. People’s opinion also appeared divided regarding the ongoing political allegations and counter-allegations between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. Many people believed that both sides were blaming each other equally.
