The United Arab Emirates’ Ministry of Defence announced through an official statement posted on its verified social media account that the country’s air defence systems engaged and intercepted 10 ballistic missiles and 26 drones launched from Iran within a single day, underscoring the continuing operational activity of the country’s integrated defence infrastructure. According to the ministry, the defensive engagement forms part of a broader response to what it described as ongoing Iranian aggression, during which UAE defence systems have interacted with a cumulative total of 278 ballistic missiles, 15 cruise missiles and 1,540 drones since the beginning of the attacks. The ministry indicated that the military remains fully prepared to address emerging threats and continues to operate in a state of heightened readiness designed to protect the country’s sovereignty, security and stability. Official figures released in the same statement confirmed that the attacks have resulted in six fatalities involving individuals of Emirati, Pakistani, Nepali and Bangladeshi nationality. Authorities also reported 131 injuries ranging from minor to moderate among residents and nationals representing a wide range of countries, including the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia, the Philippines, Pakistan, Iran, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Azerbaijan, Yemen, Uganda, Eritrea, Lebanon, Afghanistan, Bahrain, Comoros, Türkiye, Iraq, Nepal, Nigeria, Oman, Jordan, Palestine, Ghana and Indonesia. The ministry emphasised that the UAE’s defence forces continue to monitor the regional security environment while maintaining operational capabilities intended to counter aerial threats and safeguard critical national infrastructure.
