On this occasion, the festival is celebrated with great enthusiasm by lighting lamps in the house and courtyard, with rangoli and sweet dishes. On the occasion of Diwali, Goddess Lakshmi and Shri Ganesh ji are worshiped together. After all, what is the reason for this, we worship Lord Ganesha.

Mythological story related to Diwali

Although Diwali is the biggest and special festival, there is a mythological story behind its celebration which everyone knows. The festival of Diwali is associated with the incident of Lord Shri Ram when he killed the arrogant Ravana and saved Mother Sita from his clutches. After this, after completing 14 years of exile, Lord Shri Ram and Mother Sita along with brother Lakshman reached Ayodhya. Here the people of Ayodhya celebrated the festival by lighting lamps all over Ayodhya. Since then, the tradition of celebrating the festival of Diwali every year has started.

For these three reasons, we worship Goddess Lakshmi along with Goddess Lakshmi.

Let us tell you that, according to mythology, worshiping Goddess Lakshmi and Shri Ganeshji together on the day of Diwali has a different significance…

1- first reason This means that Lakshmi is not only the goddess of wealth but also the goddess of good fortune, happiness, wealth, fame and fame. Even if we get all these things without pure intelligence, they get destroyed. Therefore, Lord Ganesha, the god of wisdom, is worshiped along with Goddess Lakshmi so that good luck, happiness, wealth and fame remain in our lives.

2– second reason This means that from Devshayani Ekadashi to Devotthan Ekadashi, Lord Vishnu sleeps in Yoga Nidra. According to the story of Brahmavaivarta Purana, Mother Parvati did penance and got Lord Ganesha, a part of Lord Vishnu, as her son. Therefore, in the absence of Lord Vishnu, his part and parcel of the God of Wisdom is worshiped along with Goddess Lakshmi.

3- third reason It is said that according to mythology, once Goddess Lakshmi became proud of her superiority. Then Lord Vishnu taunted him about being childless to destroy his ego. Since none of the gods could produce children due to an old curse of Parvati, Lakshmi ji asked Parvati ji for her son Ganesha as her mental son. Lakshmi ji is fickle, so Parvati ji became worried about her son Ganesha going with Lakshmi. She placed a condition that wherever she would go, Lord Ganesha would always be with her. Actually, Lord Ganesha feels very hungry. That's why Parvati wanted assurance from Lakshmi ji that Ganesh would not remain hungry. Goddess Lakshmi gave a promise to Mother Parvati that wherever she goes, Ganesha will accompany her and unless Ganesha is worshiped as her son, Goddess Lakshmi will not give any boon to anyone.
