Why debate on ‘Vande Mataram’? This is a grave sin! – Priyanka Gandhi’s sharp attack on the government in Parliament, said – politics of diverting attention from real issues

New Delhi: A special discussion was called in Parliament on Monday on ‘Vande Mataram’, but the discussion soon turned into a heated political debate. Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, taking the lead from the opposition, fiercely attacked the government. He raised the question that what is the need for debate in Parliament on ‘Vande Mataram’ of which the entire country is proud? Priyanka accused the government of committing the “monstrous sin” of making the national anthem controversial and said all this was being done to divert attention from the West Bengal elections and the country’s burning issues. “Why are we debating Vande Mataram?” Speaking in the Lok Sabha, Priyanka Gandhi, MP from Kerala’s Wayanad, said, “We are discussing our national anthem in this House. What can be the debate on it? This song is present in every fiber of the country, it is in our spirit. Is connected.” He clearly said that the timing and purpose of this discussion is completely political. Taking aim at the ruling party, she said, “‘Vande Mataram’ is a plea for the same hopes which your regime is crushing every day.” A conspiracy to divert attention from the real issues? Priyanka alleged that this discussion is only to divert the country’s attention from reality. He said, “The youth are worried, papers are being leaked, unemployment and inflation are at their peak, reservation is being played with… Why are we not discussing these? There is so much pollution, but we are sitting in the House and talking about small things.” She described the government’s politics as “politics of show and event management.” Why did the Prime Minister forget to take the name of Congress? Priyanka Gandhi also took a dig at Prime Minister Modi. He said, “On the anniversary of ‘Vande Mataram’, the Prime Minister told in his speech that Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore had sung it for the first time in 1896 in a ‘session’. But the Prime Minister forgot to tell that it was a ‘Congress session’. After all, what was Modi ji shying away from?” He claimed that ‘Vande Mataram’ is sung in every session of the Congress, but BJP should tell whether this happens in their sessions. BJP’s sharp counterattack: Immediately after Priyanka Gandhi’s speech, BJP also counterattacked. BJP national spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari accused him of weakening the symbol of the freedom struggle. He wrote on social media, “Priyanka Vadra is raising questions on the need to discuss ‘Vande Mataram’ in Parliament, the same song which is the foundation of the Indian freedom struggle. This is the thinking of ‘Muslim League-Maoist Congress’! Talk about Gaza, keep quiet on Vande Mataram.” When Priyanka brought up Nehru’s history, amid the squabbles of the ruling party, Priyanka Gandhi also gave a befitting reply to the attacks on Jawaharlal Nehru. He said, “For the same number of years that Narendra Modi ji has been the Prime Minister of the country, Jawaharlal Nehru ji has been in jail for the country. After that, he served the country for 17 years.” He further said, “If Nehru ji had not made ISRO, Mangalyaan would not have been made, if DRDO had not been made, Tejas would not have been made, if IIT-IIM had not been made, we would not have been ahead in IT. Pandit Nehru lived for this country and the country. Died while serving.” At the end of the speech he firmly said, “Congress is for the country, BJP is for elections. We will keep fighting with you and your ideology for this soil.”
