Why did BJP, which was irritated by Maoism-Communism, welcome CPC leaders?
A high-level delegation of the Communist Party of China (CPC) visited the headquarters of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Delhi on Monday. Sun Hanyan, Deputy Minister of the International Department of the Communist Party of China, was leading the delegation. Bharatiya Janata Party’s foreign affairs department in-charge Vijay Chauthaiwale has said that during the meeting, a team led by BJP general secretary Arun Singh discussed increasing dialogue between BJP and CPC.
Chinese Ambassador to India Xu Feihong was also present with the CPC delegation. According to BJP, this visit is an important step towards increasing communication and mutual coordination between the major political parties of the two countries. Bharatiya Janata Party has been one of the staunchest opponents of the communist parties. The surprising thing is that the BJP criticizes the Left parties for their inclination towards China, yet the CPC leaders were welcomed at the party headquarters.

BJP has been a staunch critic of CPC
BJP does politics of Hindutva and nationalism. BJP has been attacking the Left parties in India on Communist Marxism-Leninism, calling them inspired by foreign ideology. BJP has been calling communists anti-national, anti-religious and China influenced. BJP has also been targeting the Left parties on their violent past. This delegation is from China, so now questions are also being raised. People say that if CPC members had held a meeting with Congress or Left parties, BJP would have surrounded them by calling them inspired by foreign ideology. This has happened in the past also.
BJP surrounds Congress on this issue
BJP attacks Congress over a 2008 agreement. An agreement was reached between the Congress and the Chinese Communist Party in Beijing this year. Rahul Gandhi had signed in the presence of Sonia Gandhi. Xi Jinping was the Vice President then. This agreement was for strategic dialogue between the two parties. Both parties had agreed to discuss bilateral, regional and global issues. BJP has been accusing Congress of playing with national interests by linking it to the interests of China.
