According to a report in 'Dainik Jagran', Gambhir wanted Hardik Pandya to be made the vice-captain of the team for the Champions Trophy, but Agarkar and Rohit wanted Gill to get a chance for this post. Along with this, Gambhir wanted to take Sanju Samson as wicketkeeper. But even in this matter, he did not get along with Agarkar and Rohit, who wanted to use Rishabh Pant as wicketkeeper.
