Why did Nayanthara accuse Dhanush of being ‘vile and tyrant’ in her open letter?

New Delhi: Nayanthara, who is popularly known as the Lady Superstar, called out actor Dhanush in an open letter for refusing to give a No Objection Certificate (NOC) for her Netflix documentary, Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairy Talewhich is scheduled to release on Netflix on November 18.

Calling out Dhanush’s vengeance against her, her film, and her husband Vignesh Shivan, she revealed that the actor refused to grant permission for the use of songs and visuals from the film, Naanum Rowdy Dhaan. Let’s delve into more details!

Nayanthara slams Dhanush

The actor condemned Dhanush’s act and described it as “vengeance” that he has harboured over the years, particularly in connection with their 2015 film, Naanum Rowdy Dhaan. She also shared that “after two long years of battling it out with you for a NOC, we finally decided to give up, re-edit and settle for the current version” as he “declined to give the permit for the usage of the film’s songs, casual cuts or even photographs”. She further called out his “personal grudge” against her for being “indecisive” for a long period.

Earlier, Dhanush sent a Rs 10 crore legal notice to Nayanthra for using a three-second clip of songs from their movie in the documentary. Addressing the same, she shared that she was “startled” by his legal notice wherein he questioned the “usage of some videos” that are publicly available on social media and called the legal notice a new “low”.

She ended by saying, “You may fabricate some fake story and pack it with punches and deliver it in your next audio launch but god is watching.”

She also introduced Dhanush to the German word ‘schadenfreude’ which means to derive pleasure from someone else’s misfortune.
