Why did the Indian military officer shake hands with the Pakistani officer?

The Pakistani citizen had accidentally crossed the Line of Control and reached Simri village of Kupwara. After receiving intelligence, the army caught him on June 12. The Pakistani man was identified as Asad Khan. He is a resident of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. After investigation, the army has sent back the Pakistani citizen.

Chinar Corps wrote on Twitter, ‘Asad Khan, a Pakistani citizen of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has been deported back to Pakistan on 18 June 2026. Asad was caught in Simri village of Kupwara after crossing the Line of Control on June 12. Asad Khan was treated with respect and compassion in India. This reflects the Indian Army’s unwavering commitment to humanitarian values and conduct. Their safe return home underlines the Indian Army’s adherence to the highest standards of ethos, responsibility and military professionalism.’
