Don-3, which has been included in the much awaited films of Bollywood, is once again in the news. But this time the reason for being in the news is not because of the shooting or the star cast, but because of the dispute that arose between actor Ranveer Singh and director Farhan Akhtar. With so much happening in the last few weeks, everyone in the industry had to get involved. Yes, many people from the organization to the producers and employees had to get involved in it.
How did the controversy start?
Don-3 was announced in 2023. Ranveer Singh was introduced in the film as the actor of Don-3. However, initially there was a lot of craze among the people about this film. But as time passed, projects started getting delayed. According to reports, disagreements increased regarding the film’s script, shooting schedule and creative issues. Meanwhile, news came that Ranveer Singh had decided to walk away from this film. Due to this decision of Ranveer Singh, the team of producer and entertainment team head Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sindhwani got a big shock. It was told that a lot of money had been spent in the pre-production process of this film and due to this mistake of the actor, huge losses were seen.
How did the matter reach a legal battle?
The controversy increased further when Ranveer Singh was claimed to have suffered huge losses due to facts related to the film. Some reports also said that Ranveer Singh had to pay crores of rupees due to the delay and loss of the production house. After this the matter reached the film industry organization FWICE (FEDERATION OF WESTERN INDIA CINE EMPLOYEE). The organization issued a “non-cooperation” directive against Ranveer Singh, under which all members were advised not to work with Ranveer.
Ranveer Singh took action against this action
After FWICE issued a “non-cooperation directive” against him, Ranveer sent a legal notice to the organization and challenged the decision. His team’s argument was that this was a contract related dispute and FWICE had no right to interfere in it. After this the matter reached the court and Ranveer decided to present his side through legal means. After Ranveer’s legal action and mediation by industry bodies, FWICE withdrew its non-cooperation directive.
