Why do men suffer from heart diseases more than women, know this special reason…

Health Desk. Men are generally more likely to have heart disease than women. Many reasons like biological, hormonal and lifestyle are responsible for this difference. According to WHO, about 1.79 crore people die every year due to heart diseases. Men get affected by it at a younger age than women.

There is a difference between the hormones of men and women
There is a difference in the hormones of women and men. This is also one of the reasons for the reduction in heart diseases in women. Estrogen hormone plays a major role in women's body. This hormone protects women from heart disease till menopause. With this hormone the cholesterol level in their body remains fine. Blood vessels remain flexible.

On the other hand, due to not getting the benefits of estrogen, men are more afraid of heart disease. After menopause, women are more likely to suffer from heart disease. Despite this, they remain at less risk than men.

Lifestyle is a big factor for heart diseases. Smoking, wrong eating habits and not being active increase the risk of heart disease in men. Smoking accelerates the process of blockage and narrowing of the coronary arteries. Plaque accumulation in the coronary arteries reduces the blood supply to the heart. This increases the risk of heart attack.

The American Heart Association (AHA) reports that men smoke more often than women. They consume more alcohol. This increases the risk of heart disease. Additionally, men are more likely to work in high-stress jobs. This can also cause heart disease.

Stress is very harmful for men. Due to constant stress, the risk of becoming a victim of high blood pressure increases. High blood pressure reduces blood flow to the heart. Along with this, genetics also plays a role in heart disease. Men have a tendency to accumulate visceral fat (fat around the organs) in the abdomen. It is more harmful than subcutaneous fat.
